APRIL 2021 maintenance working parties in Long Spinney will be on:

WEDNESDAY 7th ( 2 pm – 5 pm ) and SUNDAY 11th (2 pm – 5 pm )
We meet ( as usual ) at the Soulbury road gate @ 2 pm
Under the current government advice, this needs to be a socially distanced working party.

WITH THE MUCH INCREASED FOOTFALL IN LONG SPINNEY DURING THE LOCKDOWN
a substantial amount of the paths have become a quagmire so, one major task is to try to repair these as much as possible.
.
Another problem resulting from the winter rains is the amount of water running out of the gravel and causing the meadow area to be saturated.
We hope to resolve this by digging some drainage channels to divert the water away from the meadow.

TOOLS REQUIRED WILL BE:
Rakes + Spades + Draw hoes ( if you have them )
.
DON’T FORGET:
Suitable footwear such as walking boots
Gardening or working gloves
.
Long Spinney is maintained by a small group of your fellow residents, so we hope a few more Long Spinney users will come along and help keep it in good order!
